I’m sure by now you have heard about the endless benefits meditation has. Maybe you’ve even planned to begin a meditation practice, set everything up, but then when the time came to actually sit down and meditate, you became so overwhelmed you just blew off the whole idea.

Or is that just me?

Top Guided Meditations for Beginners

Starting a meditation practice can be extremely challenging when you are a beginner, because your mind is simply just not used to being still. You are basically retraining your brain from years of habits it has already created, so don’t expect to get it down with your first attempt.

And realize, there are many different types of ways to meditate. Meditation doesn’t mean just simply sitting in one place and being quiet. There are so many different ways to obtain the benefits.

Guided Meditation is a type of meditation that is great for beginners, because it provides cues that help you get into the present moment and become the observer of your thoughts.

The meditations below are all ones I have tried myself, I have experienced amazing benefits from each. After implementing these regularly into my life, I have reduced my stress levels, increased my energy, and overall feel like a happier person.

A few other benefits from doing these are:

  • increased concentration
  • stress reduction
  • reduces anxiety
  • improves confidence
  • relaxes the body
  • improves sleep quality

If you feel like you are constantly overwhelmed, anxious, or just feel like you need clarity and focus in your life, you definitely will benefit from starting a meditation practice.

But realize with these meditations, and pretty much every habit you want to implement into your life, consistency is key. You need to practice regularly to obtain the benefits and create a long lasting habit.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

When starting your meditation I want you to keep an open mind. Some of the meditations you may not connect with at first, but that is ok. Take the time to give them a chance and see where the results lead you.

The goal is to be in the present moment. If you find your mind drifting try to refocus it on what is being said in the meditations. Let the instructor guide you on your meditation journey.

Your environment is going to play a major role. If at all possible try to do these meditations without a busy external environment.

2.Rest and Renew in Dr. Joe Dispenza’s Space Free Guided Meditation

The second meditation we have here comes from Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself. It is an amazing book on how to observe your old habits and teaches you how to reprogram your mind to create new habits.

This is this first part of his meditation that people have to practice for a week straight before they move onto the longer version. At the end of this article I will share the longer version. For now start off small and build your way up.

3.10 Minute Chakra Balance Guided Meditation for Positive Energy

This next meditation focuses on the chakras. And don’t worry, you don’t need to know what a chakra is or even believe in the chakras to benefit from this meditation.

Basically, chakras refer to channels in your body in which energy flow through. It is said, when we have a blockage in a channel, it can manifest physically, emotionally, and mentally.

This meditation helps you clear your chakras, and with enough practice it will create a clean and floating feeling. If you are ever stressed or upset this is one of the best meditations to clear out all that negative energy.

4.Health Anxiety Meditation For Beginners

Here is a quick 8-minute meditation to calm your body. Starting off with these smaller meditations will help you build up the skill to meditate for longer periods of time.

5.Joe Dispenza Guided Meditation

Here is the full guided meditation that we talked about earlier. If you think you have built up the tolerance to be able to meditate for 40 minutes then you should do this. Only take on this meditation when you have practiced the shorter meditations consistently for 2-3 weeks.
